Bridgestone Americas rounds up for better heart health; raises $230,000 for the American Heart Association

The association is the leading non-governmental funder of cardiovascular research, investing over $3.7 billion dollars since 1949, and is a leader in education and public health programs working with communities, companies, schools, healthcare providers, and the general public to improve treatment, prevention and awareness of cardiovascular health. AHA-funded research has been responsible for advances such as CPR, pacemakers, drug-eluting stents, microsurgery, congenital heart defect repairs, genetic knowledge, smoke-free environments, improved school nutrition and physical education standards, and much more. The Round Up program has benefited various causes since its inception in 2011, including Meals on Wheels, the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and now, the American Heart Association. “Bridgestone Americas is committed to supporting organizations that make a positive impact for our teammates and the communities where we live and work,” said Stu Crum, President of Bridgestone Retail Operations. “Through the generosity of our customers, we are able to provide this check to the American Heart Association so they may further the work they are doing to build a culture of health within these communities.” “We are grateful to Bridgestone Americas for their strong support of our lifesaving mission, and we thank their customers for their heartfelt outpouring of generosity,” said Kelley Tune, Metro VP of the American Heart Association, Greater Nashville. “Their contribution will truly make a difference.” For more on the American Heart Association, visit wwww.heart.org SectionsNewsTopicsAmerican Heart Association, Bridgestone America, Cardiovascular, CPR, Nashville TN |
