Constantia Flexibles has been a longtime advocate of sustainability and has been practicing recycling for 35 years. Bettina Perkins, Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, oversaw the green certification effort for Constantia.

When asked what they did, Perkins answered, “Our facility keeps materials such as paper, plastic, cardboard, printer cartridges, electronics and more out of the local landfill by recycling, reuse or repurposing.  One of our largest recycling efforts, the solvent recovery system, enables us to recover, and reuse solvent; saving the company money and keeping it out of the environment by disposing of it or burning it. In addition to all we are currently doing to save energy and water, Constantia Flexibles – Clarksville takes an active approach in keeping our environmental impact down and we are continuously finding new ways to reduce, reuse, recycle waste and to reduce energy. Just a few of our goals for the future are:  reduce energy by changing to LED lamps throughout the facility, increase recycling of lead batteries through Bi-County and increase the purchase of recycled office products.”

Perkins gave full credit for the certification to the employees for doing their part in upholding the company’s recycling and environmental procedures/efforts.

Truitt and Gentry thanked Constantia on behalf of the County and City Mayors for their dedication to minimizing their impact on the local environment.

Constantia Flexibles is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of flexible packaging and labels with 54 production plants in 23 countries, serving 4000+ customers globally.  Two of the most recognizable companies Constantia Flexibles – Clarksville serves are Anheuser-Busch/InBev and Bush Bros.
