APSU Men's BasketballBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) freshman guard Jordyn Adams has been named Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.

His jumper in the lane with under six minutes to play in the first half gave Austin Peay State University its first lead in the contest, while his second-half three-pointer keyed a second-half run which allowed the Govs to retake the lead.

Through his first three games as a Gov, Adams is averaging 14.0 points and 4.0 rebounds, recording at least one steal in each game and hitting 70.6 percent at the charity stripe.

Adams is the first Gov to earn weekly hardware from the Ohio Valley Conference for the 2019-20 season. He’s Austin Peay State University’s first Freshman of the Week honoree since Terry Taylor earned five during the 2017-18 season en route to OVC Freshman of the Year honors.

Adams and the APSU Govs take on Vanderbilt, 7:00pm, Wednesday, in Nashville Tennessee before returning home to host Southeastern Louisiana in a 7:00pm, Saturday contest in the Dunn Center.
