Clarksville, TN – Coming off a one-score loss to Morehead State on Sunday, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) soccer team heads back to the Bluegrass State to face Northern Kentucky, with a Thursday 3:00pm CT match at NKU Soccer Stadium in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
Austin Peay (0-2-0) played to a 1-0 loss to Morehead State, Sunday, with Taylor Grover and Ellie Dreas leading the team in shots at two each. The APSU Govs are on a two-game streak without a win since their 1-0 exhibition shutout against Belmont, with Grover scoring the game-winner in the 75th minute of the match.
Lauryn Berry has earned the start for the APSU Govs between the pipes in the season’s first two matches, seeing 156:59 minutes in the net, and collecting eight saves.
Northern Kentucky (0-0-1) is coming off a 1-1 draw against Mercyhurst a week ago on Aug. 14.
An early goal from Megan Molner in the 11th minute was not enough for the Norse to come away with a win, as Mercyhurst scored on a penalty kick in the 24th minute to tie the score.
