Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – In an effort to keep pace with the changes in the way law enforcement does business, the Clarksville Police Department has created a Community Relations Unit (CRU).

The face of law enforcement is evolving and the necessity for involvement, visibility and transparency are more important than ever before. The CRU’s intent is to be involved in activities within the community to promote a positive, relatable image to the citizens we serve.

It is only three questions, but will help CPD decide whether to change to day it is held and to raise awareness that CPD has an academy.

Clarksville Police Department conducted Student Traffic Awareness Training Class, Saturday

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 20th, 2018, 30 young adults, between 15 and 19 years old, signed on the dotted line to attend Clarksville Police Department’s free Student Traffic Awareness Training (S.T.A.T) class.

They had an opportunity to learn about speed awareness, occupant protection, underage alcohol prevention awareness, pedestrian and bicycle safety, rules of the road, traffic signs and signals, traffic laws, driving under the influence, and distracted driving.

30 young adults attended the Clarksville Police Department's free Student Traffic Awareness Training (S.T.A.T) class, Saturday.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department announces that applications are available for the upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class. The class will start on March 5th, 2019, and the graduation date will be on May 28th, 2019.

They will held on Tuesday evenings, times vary depending on the schedule (between 6:00pm-9:00pm) for 12 weeks (not including spring break week).

Citizens Police Academy Alumni helps Clarksville Police Department kick off Child Passenger Safety Week

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Citizens Police Academy Alumni provided the perfect kickoff for Child Passenger Safety Week 2017 by generously donating $1,000 worth of child safety seats to the Clarksville Police Department.

According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) statistics car crashes are the leading cause of death for children. Every 33 seconds in 2015, one child under the age of 13 was involved in a crash.

Clarksville Police Department now accepting Applications for Citizen’s Police Academy

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Would you like to navigate a police driving course or punch some holes in silhouette targets at a police firing range? Local citizens will get a chance to learn both general law enforcement procedures and specific details about their local police department in the 2017 Spring Citizen’s Police Academy.

The mostly 6:30pm to 9:00pm classes will include introductions to criminal investigations and patrol operations and topics such as homicide and crime scene investigations. Participants can drive police cars, shoot firearms, and tackle use-of-force decision-making exercises.
