High octane bout keeps crowds entertained in 5th Special Forces Group’s reunion week flag football championship

 

5th Special Forces GroupFort Campbell, KY – Six hours of game time in the hot sun may have played a key role in the flag football champ’s crushing 29-point-victory during 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), also known as the Legion, during the unit’s 58th Anniversary events this week.

Soldiers, friends and family members from 2nd and 3rd Battalion, 5th SFG(A), faced off in the championship game after eliminating opposing teams throughout the day in a single-elimination tournament on Wednesday.

Players from the 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), flag football team took up the field early in the afternoon and fought their way though two other teams before making it to the final matchup.

APSU Football’s Red and White Spring Game to feature alumni reunion game

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – The Red and White Spring Game presented by Echo Power and hosted by the Austin Peay State University (APSU) football program is set for Saturday, April 6th, 2019 at Fortera Stadium, and will feature a football alumni reunion flag football game in the festivities.

Admission to the Spring Game is free and open to the public, and fans will be able to sit in the west (home) grandstands of Fortera Stadium.

Lifeliners take top awards in Fort Campbell MWR Commander’s Cup Tournament

Fort Campbell, KY – Out of nearly 50 teams, it came down to teams from 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and 716th Military Police Battalion for the final game of the Commander’s Cup Tournament held by Fort Campbell’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation program.

The tournament began in January and ended mid-November with a tie-breaker flag football game between the two teams from 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade “Lifeliners,” 101st Abn. Div.

Clarksville Police and Clarksville Parks & Recreation strive to “Bridge the Gap” with Summer Night Lights program

This however, is not the case in Clarksville where Parks and Recreation is joining forces with the Clarksville Police Department to bring forth “Bridging the Gap Week” as a part of the Mayor’s Summer Night Lights program on Monday, July 20th at the Kleeman Community Center and Wednesday, July 22nd at Summit Heights from 5:30pm to 9:00pm each night. Free food and drinks will be provided!

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – The Family & MWR Sports & Fitness office invites you to join them for some spring sports. The weather is getting nicer and it’s time to get active!
