United Way, Local Mayors unite to Feed Families

 

United Way Of Greater ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region has put together a Farmers to Families event at 1:00pm on October 21st in First Baptist Church’s preschool parking lot at Hiter Street and Commerce Street.

This event is a result of a partnership between Carolyn Watson, Director of the Cumberland Baptist Disaster Relief Team, and the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region along with Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, Stewart County Mayor Robin Brandon, and Houston County Mayor Paul Bailey to provide more than 1,200 food boxes to local families in need.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has closed a section of Commerce Street to through traffic from Hiter Street to Childers Street to repair a water main leak.

Motorists will be redirected to Hiter Street and Childers Street during the work.

The water main repair is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 6:00pm.

Clarksville Police requests assistance Clearing Streets for Rivers and Spires

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires will begin on Thursday and continue through Saturday evening. Clarksville Police need the public’s assistance to ensure the streets are clear of vehicles to facilitate safety and allow the event to be set up without obstruction.

Beginning Thursday morning, April 20th, not later than 6:00am, there will no parking allowed on Public Square, Strawberry Alley, Franklin Street (from First Street to Second Street), and First Street.

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The 14th annual Rivers and Spires Festival begins this week, April 14th-16th in Downtown Clarksville. Country music artist Kellie Pickler will headline the Public Square stage at 7:30pm and Dove awarding artist Plumb will headline the Christian stage at 7:00pm on Saturday night.

From children’s activities, arts vendors, a car show, military exhibits, shopping and so much more, this is truly an event for the whole family. Those that attend will have five stages of live entertainment with over 100 performers to enjoy during the three day event.
