Raleigh, NC – The Nashville Predators shut-out the Carolina Hurricanes tonight 3-0, behind the goal tending of Pekka Rinne who returned to net after an eight day lay-off.
After being pulled from three of his last four starts, Rinne showed championship form tonight and produced the shut-out for Nashville who recovered from a devastating loss on Wednesday night to Las Vegas.
The Predators withstood an onslaught from the Hurricanes early in this contest and it was Rinne who stood firm in net to keep Carolina from taking the early advantage.
Nashville, TN – In the blink of an eye, the Nashville Predators saw victory snatched from their grip by the Las Vegas Golden Knights, who tied the game in regulation with under one second on the clock, then won the contest in the extra frame, 4-3.
The Predators appeared to have the game in hand, leading 3-2 with under one minute remaining, when Las Vegas grabbed the puck in the Predators’ zone and Max Pacioretty slammed home the equalizer with .03 seconds on the clock to tie it 3-3.
Glendale, AZ – The Nashville Predators fell to the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 behind three power-play goals and a two goal performance from Phil Kessel. Nashville lost two of the three road games on this three game western swing.
Nashville goalie Juuse Saros lost his third start of the season and the Predators were without Filip Forsberg who is out with a lower body injury.
Christian Dvorak put Arizona on the board first with a wrist shot at 6:06 of the first period for the early 1-0 lead.
Las Vegas, NV – The Nashville Predators put on a dominating performance tonight in Sin City, defeating the Las Vegas Golden Knights, 5-2 to pick up their first road win of the season.
Kyle Turris got things started at just 2:14 of the opening period on a tip-in from Ryan Ellis to give Nashville the early 1-0 lead. Rocco Grimaldi also assisted on the goal.
Vegas came right back at 9:55 when Mark Stone snapped a shot past Pekka Rinne for the equalizer, 1-1. Then, Reilly Smith put the Golden Knights up 2-1 with a goal at 17:23, and suddenly the momentum was in favor of the home team.
Los Angeles, CA – It looked like the Nashville Predators were poised to make another dramatic comeback today against the L.A Kings, only to fall short in a wild “Hollywood” affair, 7-4.
Nashville drew first blood at 4:55 of the opening period when Mikael Granlund netted a goal over the shoulder of Kings goaltender Jack Campbell and the Predators took a 1-0 lead.
That’s when the Kings took over the game. L.A outworked the Predators through the first two periods and into the second intermission, were leading Nashville 4-1.
Las Vegas, NV– The Las Vegas Golden Knights ran roughshod over the Nashville Predators tonight in sin city, breaking a five game home losing streak with the win, 5-1.
Nashville starting goalie Juuse Saros blocked 45 shots on the night, but Las Vegas attempted the most shots on goal for the season against Nashville with 50.
The Predators thought they had the first goal of the night in the first period when Colton Sissons scored on a breakaway, but the goal was disallowed when Vegas challenged for off side. After the video review, it was determined that Sissons WAS in fact off side, so no goal.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators finally righted the ship with a 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens tonight at Bridgestone Arena.
Newly acquired big man Brian Boyle scored his first goal as a Predator and Viktor Arvidsson added to his torrid scoring streak for the victory.
Arvidsson scored his 24th goal of the season tonight, a remarkable feat considering he was injured and didn’t return to the lineup until New Years Eve. Nashville wrapped up a three game home stand and snapped a three game losing streak tonight with the win.
Las Vegas, NV – The Nashville Predators rolled into Las Vegas tonight and defeated the Golden Knights, 2-1. Getting the two points was just what the doctor ordered before the NHL takes it’s annual All-Star break this weekend.
Vegas got on the board first at 8:03 of the first period when Max Pacioretty took a pass from Alex Tuch and buried the puck past Nashville goalie, Juuse Saros for the 1-0 lead.
The teams remained tied after the first period of play with Vegas outshooting the Predators 18-13, but Saros stood tall in net to keep the Predators close.
Denver, CO– The Nashville Predators broke through with a much needed win today in the mile high city of Denver, Colorado, shutting down the Avalanche, 4-1.
Coming off of back to back losses, the Predators stood tall behind the unbelievable play of their Vicenza Trophy winning goalie, Pekka Rinne.
Rinne absolutely shut the Avalanche down in the first period and had it not been for his stellar play, Nashville could have easily been down 5-0.
Head coach Peter Laviolette had commented that he saw a lot of good things in his team over the last couple of games, but they needed to come better prepared to start the first period. Nashville fell behind early in the last two games and couldn’t recover.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators broke their home ice losing streak to defeat the Las Vegas Golden Knights, 4-1, at Bridgestone Arena.
Ryan Hartman led the Preds with his two goal effort, that gave Nashville all they would need on the night.
The Predators had struggled this season at home, where their only three losses had occurred in Nashville. The Predators outshot the Golden Knights, 28-24 on the night.
Reilly Smith scored the first goal of the Knight for Vegas at 17:14 of the first period when his snapshot beat Predators goalie, Juuse Saros on the high side and Vegas led 1-0.
