Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Soldiers and civilians of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell are excited to host Family members, community members, veterans and distinguished guests on Fort Campbell in celebration of our annual “Week of the Eagles” events, May 17th-23rd, 2019. This year’s WOE celebration will also include “Military Survivor Appreciation Week” and Retiree Appreciation Day.

Come see why Fort Campbell is the installation of choice for Army Soldiers, Families, civilians and veterans. Events are free and open to the public. Non-military ID card holders will need to follow normal gate entry procedures.

Fort Campbell’s 2014 Week of the Eagles Honors 101st Legacy and Resilience

 

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell will celebrate the 2014 Week of the Eagles May 16th to 22nd.

This year’s Week of the Eagles will commence the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the 101st Airborne Division’s deployment to Vietnam. In keeping with tradition, activities will take place in May.

In 1973, then Major General John Cushman started the first Week of the Eagles in an effort to invigorate the local community and celebrate the Division’s combat readiness.

Fort Campbell, KY – The official color of the Strike Brigade is once again gold as the teams representing the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), brought back the well sought after Week of the Eagles 2012 Commander’s Cup.

“A phenomenal job winning the Week of the Eagles,” said Lt. Col. Townley Hedrick, the deputy commanding officer for the Strike brigade, when speaking about the Strike Soldiers. “This brigade has great, young leaders, officers and non-commissioned officers, who lead by example and make things happen.” «Read the rest of this article»

Fort Campbell, KY – Golf is a sport loved by people all over; Soldiers are no different.  Fort Campbell’s Cole Park Commons Golf Course hosted the Week of the Eagles, Legacy Golf Tournament August 13th. Despite inclement weather, 36 teams came out for the best ball style tournament hoping to emerge on top.

“I think we have some great teams out here,” said Maj. Gen. James C. McConville, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell. “I think it’s a great day to come out and celebrate being a part of the 101st Airborne Division.”

Fort Campbell's Week of the EaglesFort Campbell, KY – The “Screaming Eagles” of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will host the 2012 Week of the Eagles, August 10th-17th, 2012, at Fort Campbell, KY, to reflect upon all that the division’s Soldiers have achieved since the unit was created with no history, but with a “Rendezvous with Destiny.”

“Week of the Eagles is a time for 101st Soldiers of the past and present to come together and reflect on the great legacy of the 101st Airborne Division,” said Maj. Gen. James C. McConville, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Lee told troops during an address August 19th, 1942. Since that historic day at Camp Claiborne, LA, the Screaming Eagles have had many a rendezvous with destiny, and this year the storied division and the Fort Campbell community will mark the 70th anniversary of the unit’s inception during the 2012 Week of the Eagles: A history of valor.

“Week of the Eagles is a time for 101st soldiers of the past and present to come together and reflect on the great legacy of the 101st Airborne Division,” said Maj. Gen. James C. The Week of the Eagles starts August 14th

 

WOEbutton2Fort Campbell, Ky – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell will celebrate the Week of the Eagles Aug. 14-20.

The theme for this year’s festivities is “Their Strength and Courage Strike the Spark: Honoring our Sergeants,” in recognition of the Army’s Year of the NCO campaign.

Soldiers will compete in various events throughout the week, which are open to the public as spectators:

  • Marksmanship Competition at Ranges 10, 13, and 14, Aug. 14, 10 a.m.
  • Toughest Air Assault Soldier Competition at the Sabalauski Air Assault School, Aug. 16, 8 a.m.
  • Combatives at the Personnel Processing Center (briefings begin at 8 a.m.), Aug. 17-18, 9 a.m.
  • Basketball at Freedom Fighters Gym, Softball at the North Sports Complex (between Kentucky and Indiana Aves. at 47th and 49th Streets), Aug. 17-19, 9 a.m.
