APSU Baseball splits double header against SIU Edwardsville

 

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Second baseman Malcolm Tipler’s walk-off two-run home run in the 12th inning helped Austin Peay State University’s baseball team win Game 1 of a Friday doubleheader, 7-6. However, the Govs had to settle for a split of the Ohio Valley Conference twin bill as SIU Edwardsville won the nightcap, 11-3, on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

APSU Baseball hosts SIU Edwardsville this weekend

 

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Four weekends remain in Ohio Valley Conference play for the Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team and they start that closing stretch with a three-game series against SIU Edwardsville.

Due to inclement weather this weekend, the Govs and Cougars will play a 1:00pm, Friday doubleheader followed by a 1:00pm, Saturday contest on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

APSU Baseball loses to Army, 2-1

 

APSU BaseballCary, NC – Starting pitcher Harley Gollert retired the first 19 batters he faced, but the Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team could not deny a late Army charge and fell, 2-1, Friday’s at Coleman Field.

Gollert was in control through six innings, striking out six Army batters in his 19-batter streak.
