Flood Warning issued for Cumberland River at Clarksville

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Flood Warning for the Cumberland River at Clarksville from this evening until Thursday morning, April 1st, 2021.

At 8:00pm CT Sunday, the stage was 45.1 feet and rising. The flood stage is 46.0 feet. Minor flooding is forecast.

The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 49.1 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below the flood stage early Thursday morning.

Clarksville Police report 41A Bypass reopened

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police announce that the 41A bypass has been cleared and reopened.

The 41A Bypass was closed due to an overturned asphalt truck at 1590 Ashland City Road. The 41A Bypass was closed in both directions between Seven Mile Ferry Road and Glendale Drive.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are at the scene of an overturned asphalt truck on the 41A Bypass, 1590 Ashland City Road. The 41A Bypass will be closed in both directions between Seven Mile Ferry Road and Glendale Drive. Seek an alternate route.

There is no estimate for reopening at this point. The company is being contacted for clean up.

Cumberland River at Clarksville to Crest Tonight

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service reports water levels on the Cumberland River from the Nashville area to Ashland City have crested and are beginning to subside, and most locations should fall below Flood Stage by this evening.

Near Clarksville and Dover, river levels will continue to rise slightly, before cresting later this evening. At Clarksville, the Cumberland River is projected to crest at 51.5 feet around midnight tonight. The Cumberland River will crest just after midnight in Dover at 66.8 feet. The stage for minor flooding is 67.0 feet.
