Tuscaloosa, AL – Zaay Green recorded her first career double-double and No. 20/17 Tennessee out-rebounded Alabama, 49-44, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a UA team that shot a blistering 50 percent from the floor en route to an 86-65 Tide victory in Tuscaloosa.
Sophomore Evina Westbrook was Tennessee’s (12-5, 1-4 SEC) high scorer with 19 points and five assists. Zaay Green finished the day with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while fellow freshman Rae Burrell managed 12 points and seven rebounds.
Alabama (10-8, 2-3 SEC) was led by junior Cierra Johnson, who had 17 points and seven rebounds. Ariyah Copeland finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Shaquera Wade added 15 points.

Knoxville, TN – No. 20/17 Tennessee (12-4, 1-3 SEC) plays its second straight road contest, as the Lady Vols head to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama (9-8, 1-3 SEC) on Thursday night, January 17th. Tip-off is slated for 8:02pm CT (9:02pm ET) at Coleman Coliseum, with the game being carried by the SEC Network and the Lady Vol Radio Network.
This marks the 46th meeting between these programs, with Alabama holding a four-game winning streak over the Lady Vols and taking the past two games in Tuscaloosa. In addition to attempting to halt that series streak, the Lady Vols will be seeking to end a three-game losing skid that began on January 6th. UT has lost its last three contests to Missouri (66-64), Kentucky (73-71) and Georgia (66-62) by a combined total of eight points.

The 55th meeting between the Lady Vols and Crimson Tide is an important one, as UT tries to maintain its second-place position in the league standings, while the Crimson Tide tries to improve its chances of earning an NCAA Tournament bid with a quality win on the road. The Lady Vols, who lead the series, 49-5, also look to end a three-game losing skid vs. Bama.

Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols (16-11, 7-7 SEC) will play their final road game of the season as they look to sweep Alabama (14-13, 3-11 SEC) . Tipoff is slated for 7:30pm CT/8:30pm ET at Foster Auditorium and the game will be available on SEC Network + (Online) and WatchESPN.
