APSU Men’s Cross Country
Bowling Green, KY – In its first test at the eight-kilometer distance, Austin Peay State University men’s cross country team showed there is plenty of work to be done, finishing sixth at the Old Timers Classic, Saturday morning, at Kereiakes Park.
The teams were scored in a dual format, with each team’s placing compared to each of the other teams. The Govs were only able to pass Tennessee Tech in the seven-team field.

However, the Govs next three runners were again unable to close the gap between them and that leading trio. Freshman Tyler Kepley (28:33.02) finished 44th, junior Evan Collins (29:04.91) was 53rd and sophomore Konnor Kessler (30:49.24) finished 70th.
“The men looked really good through about 3.5 miles (5.5 km) and we were ahead of both Marshall and Morehead at that point, but we gave it away over the last mile,” said APSU cross country coach Doug Molnar. “That’s something we shouldn’t allow to happen. Enock ran really strong from the start and ran smart. Tyler also did a nice job on a very tough course for his first 8k race.”
