APSU Sports: Women’s Golf
Clarksville, TN – Chelsea Harris, Austin Peay State University’s former four-time All-Ohio Valley Conference selection and current Lady Govs graduate assistant, has been selected to play for Tennessee Team in the upcoming Southeastern Women’s Amateur Team Championship (SWATC), October 24th-26th, in Knoxville.

This year’s tournament will be played at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville. On Monday, October 24th, the Best Ball event against each of the other states participating will occur.
Tuesday, October 25th, will see the Foursomes event take place followed by individual matches against each state on Wednesday, October 26th.
A Metropolis, IL, native, Harris left Austin Peay as the most accomplished women’s golfer in University history. She was the 2010 OVC Player of the Year and was first-team All-OVC three times and second-team once. She also was named the 2010-11 Legends Award recipient as Austin Peay’s most valuable senior women’s athlete. A May graduate, Harris has returned to school to pursue a master’s degree and will assist Lady Govs head coach Sara Robson with the program this upcoming season.
Host Alabama edged Florida in last year’s SWATC competition, played at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club, in Killen, AL.
