Austin Peay Governors Tennis beat Lipscomb 6-1

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Tennis

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay men’s tennis team picked up a convincing 6-1 win against Lipscomb, Saturday, at the Governors Indoor Tennis Center.

The Govs played it close to the vest. The doubles matches came down to a pair of 9-7 matches, with Austin Peay’s Jasmin Ademovic and John Storie winning outright at No. 2, while Iago Seffrin and Aleksas Tverijonas needed a tiebreaker. Sean Bailey and Dimitar Ristovski, meanwhile, won an 8-4 match at No. 1 singles.

The singles action also proved to be highly competitive, with No. 2 and 3 singles matches going into three sets. Ademovic, in his second match at No. 2, lost his second set but won the final set 6-2. Ristovski also dropped the middle set at No. 3 singles.

Bailey picked up his first win at No. 1 singles over Lipscomb’s Oliver Strecker. Tverijonas also won at No. 4 singles in straight sets and Store won a tough No. 6 singles match in a tiebreaker.
