The District 10-AAA win by Northeast (6-11, 2-5 District 10-AAA) was just one day short of the six year anniversary of their last win over the Lady Wildcats – a 56-50 final coming on January 18th, 2008.

Clarksville High (9-9, 5-3 District 10-AAA) — who never led in the contest — tied the game for the last time, 32-32, on a basket by Nyasia Saines with 4:16 left in the game.

But Northeast would hold Clarksville High scoreless over the next 3:50, while going on a 9-0 run to go up 41-32.

Horn would lead all scorers with 11 points.

The final points of the run came on baskets by Horn and Nataszja Freeman.

Clarksville High would get a final bucket from LaPrasha Fair, with 25.9 seconds left to end the Northeast run, but it was too little too late for the Lady Wildcats, who see a run of 14 straight victories against the Lady Eagles come to an end.

In the first half, Northeast got off to a good start scoring the first five points of the game and building that out to a seven-point margin, 12-5, over the first seven minutes of the game, before settling for a 12-7 lead after one quarter of play.

The second quarter would see Northeast go up by as many as nine points, 16-7, before Clarksville High put together a 5-0 run to get back to within six points, 16-12, with 2:52 left before halftime.

It would remain a four-point game until a three by Northeast’s Henry put the Lady Eagles up seven, 21-14, with 1:49 left, but the Lady Wildcats scored the final four points of the half to go into intermission trailing the Lady Eagles, 21-18.

As the second half opened, Clarksville High would get as close as two points early in the half, 22-20, before Northeast ran off six straight points to go up 28-20, with 4:02 left in the third quarter.
