Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan appoints Arthur Bing as City of Clarksville Director of Transportation

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has appointed Arthur Bing as the Director of Transportation for the City of Clarksville. Mr. Bing’s appointment will become effective immediately.

“We conducted an open, extensive search and interview process. We received numerous applications from numerous qualified candidates. Mr. Bing stood out among them all,” said Mayor Kim McMillan. “I am very confident that the Clarksville Transit System will continue to see tremendous growth and opportunities under his leadership.”

“I am very pleased to accept this position,” said Mr. Bing. “We have a great team at CTS. As more people move into our area and the number of commuters grows, a vibrant transit system will become even more important. I’m looking forward to helping the City meet these challenges.”

Among Mr. Bing’s qualifications is his selection as the 2013 Urban Executive/Manager of the Year by the Tennessee Public Transit Association. He has been employed with CTS for seventeen years and is currently the Vice President of the Tennessee Public Transportation Association. Mr. Bing has served as the Interim Director of Transportation for the City since June of this year.

The mission of the Clarksville Transit System is to plan, implement, maintain and manage a public transportation system that allows for maximum mobility for the community with emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency. Almost 1 million passengers rode CTS buses last year.
