#16/19 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball falls to #20/18 Kentucky 71-56 at Rupp Arena

 

UT Lady VolsLexington, KY – No. 16/19 Tennessee outscored Kentucky 21-9 in the third quarter to erase an 11-point halftime deficit but couldn’t hold off a No. 20/18 UK team that went a perfect 5-of-5 from behind the arc in the fourth quarter, falling 71-56 in Rupp Arena on Thursday night.

Junior Rae Burrell was the high scorer for the Lady Vols (12-4, 6-2 SEC), turning in 22 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Jordan Horston pitched in 11 points and three assists, and redshirt-junior Jordan Walker led the team in rebounding with nine boards.

UT played without all-star senior forward Rennia Davis, who did not make the trip to Lexington due to medical reasons.

Montgomery County Government Offices to Open Two Hours Late, Friday

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government offices will open two hours later than normal operating hours on Friday, February 12th, 2021 due to icy conditions on bridges and some County roads. All offices are expected to be open by 10:00am.

The Montgomery County Health Department will begin administering vaccinations at 10:30am. For those who have an appointment for a vaccination at an earlier time frame please come in at 10:30am. The staff will work to provide vaccinations to everyone who had a scheduled appointment.

APSU Men’s Basketball shoots down UT Martin Skyhawks, 71-50

 

APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – Nobody was happy when Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s basketball team left Martin on Monday night following a buzzer-beating loss to the Skyhawks. But the Govs didn’t have to wait long to exact their revenge and used a stifling defense to take down UT Martin in a 71-50 decision in the Dunn Center, Thursday.

Light Freeze rain possible tonight for Clarksville-Montgomery County

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports some freezing drizzle may be possible across Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee late this afternoon, Thursday, February 11th, and tonight.

With roads that continue to be wet this afternoon through tonight as temperatures remain or fall to below freezing, patches of ice may form on roads, especially secondary non-treated roads. Please exercise caution while driving on area roadways through tonight.

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Schools will open 2 Hours Late, Friday

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – All Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for all students and a 1-hour delay for employees tomorrow, Friday, February 12th, 2021.

Pre-K will not report. Breakfast and lunch will be served for traditional students, and curbside meals will be served for CMCSS K-12 Virtual students.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 1,047 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, February 11th, 2021

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 633,907 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus as of Thursday, February 11th, 2021. That is an increase of 1,047 cases from Wednesday’s 632,860. There have been 8,706 (+54) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been   O N E   H U N D R E D   F O R T Y   O N E   new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Montgomery County. The total is 16,618. Nineteen of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 198 (+8) deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 569 tests given with 99 positive results for a 17.3 percent positive.
