Jacksonville, FL – The Nashville Sounds’ losing skid reached four on Tuesday night, as they totaled just three hits and were unable to take advantage of eight walks in a 4-0 loss against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at 121 Financial Ballpark. The Sounds have scored three runs total during their four-game skid.
With all the walks, the Sounds went in order on offense just twice but also stranded 10 base runners, including the bases loaded in the ninth inning with the tying run at the plate. Matt Lipka doubled in the second and had an infield single in the ninth, and Lorenzo Cain legged out on an infield hit in the eighth for the other hit.
Nashville, TN – The Louisville Bats defeated the Nashville Sounds 4-2 in the series finale Sunday night at First Horizon Park. The two clubs split the six-game set with Nashville winning the first three games and Louisville winning the last three.
Narcisco Crook gave the Bats a 2-0 advantage in the fourth inning with a double to center field. Dustin Peterson singled to lead off the bottom half of the fourth and was driven in on a double by Luke Maile to cut the Louisville lead to 2-1.
The Bats extended their lead to 3-1 in the fifth on a single from Max Schrock. The Sounds got the run right back in the bottom half of the fifth as Peterson singled home a run to make it 3-2, Louisville.
Nashville, TN – Zach Green launched two home runs to power the Nashville Sounds to a 5-0 victory over the Louisville Bats Wednesday night at First Horizon Park. The Sounds recorded their sixth shutout of the season.
Nashville starting pitcher Blaine Hardy earned his third win of the season, the left-hander worked five scoreless innings and struck out four. Chad Sobotka, Quintin Torres-Costa, Eric Yardley, and Angel Perdomo all tossed a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds walked off on the Louisville Bats with a 2-1 win when Tim Lopes drove in Cooper Hummel with the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning on Tuesday night at First Horizon Park.
With Hummel at second base to start the bottom of the 10th in a 1-1 game, Christian Kelley walked to put runners at first and second. After Louisville retired Zach Green for the first out of the inning, Lopes hit an 0-1 pitch from Carson Fulmer deep enough into right field to score Hummel and give the Sounds their seventh walk-off win of 2021.
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds right-hander Bowden Francis did a little bit of everything to help the club to a 9-3 win over the Louisville Bats in front of a sellout crowd of 11,686 at First Horizon Park on Sunday night. It was the sixth-largest crowd in First Horizon Park history.
Francis limited the Bats to one run on three hits over six innings. He walked a pair of batters and struck out four in his fourth win in a Sounds uniform. For good measure, Francis collected a pair of infield singles at the plate.
The only run Francis allowed was a lead-off home run to Louisville second baseman Max Schrock. Only one Louisville batter made it to second base against Francis the rest of the way.
Nashville, TN – Another comeback bid by the Nashville Sounds came up short in a 5-2 loss to the Louisville Bats on Thursday night at First Horizon Park.
Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the eighth, pinch-hitter Jesus Lujano sparked a Sounds rally with a leadoff single to right field. After a pair of strikeouts, Lujano moved to third on Cooper Hummel’s single up the middle. Zach Green just missed a three-run homer and settled for an RBI double off the wall to trim the deficit to 3-2. Louisville got out of the inning when Matt Lipka struck out.
Nashville Sounds Pitcher Thomas Jankins Tosses Five Shutout Innings in Win over Charlotte Knights.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds got five scoreless innings from starter Thomas Jankins and a balanced offensive attack on their way to a 6-3 win over the Charlotte Knights in front of 6,612 fans at First Horizon Park Tuesday night.
Jankins struck out a season-high six batters and scattered two hits and three walks. It was the first win of the year for the right-hander.
Nashville’s offense went to work in the second inning as 10 batters came to the plate. Cooper Hummel led off the rally with an infield single. He trotted home when Tim Lopes drilled a two-run homer to left field to give the Sounds a 2-0 lead.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds scored five runs in the seventh inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit and defeat the Indianapolis Indians 6-3 Thursday night at First Horizon Park. It marked the third time the Sounds have won when trailing after six innings.
Nashville got on the board in the third as Keston Hiura singled home a run to give the Sounds a 1-0 advantage.
Indianapolis came back to take a 3-1 lead in the fourth on a single from Will Craig and a two-RBI single from Anthony Alford.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds got a solid outing from Blaine Hardy and home runs from Dustin Peterson, Weston Wilson, and Cooper Hummel in a 6-4 win over the Charlotte Knights at Truist Field on Tuesday night. The win for Nashville was the club’s 13th consecutive win.
Coming off back-to-back six-game sweeps of Gwinnett and Columbus, the Sounds opened the six-game set in Charlotte with a first-inning run. Pablo Reyes doubled to the left-field corner on the first pitch of the game and came around to score on Dustin Peterson’s sacrifice fly.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds completed the sweep with a 9-3 win over the Columbus Clippers Sunday afternoon at Huntington Park. Nashville has won 12 straight games and completed their second consecutive six-game sweep.
Nashville jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI-double from Dylan Cozens and a two-RBI single from Christian Kelley. In the bottom half, Tyler Krieger cut the Nashville lead to 3-2 with a two-run homer for Columbus.
