Clarksville City Council updates code regulating Peddlers

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, June 6th, 2019, the Clarksville City Council gave final approval to an ordinance that increases peddlers permit fees and updates provisions relative to peddlers that had been in the City Code since 1963.
The old code had called for a $2.00 fee to obtain a peddler’s permit, which was way out of date and fell far short of the actual costs in 2019 to process a permit application.

District 22 Tennessee Senator elect Bill Powers resigns City Council seat

Clarksville, TN – On April 23rd, 2019, Bill Powers was elected District 22 Tennessee State Senator and then sworn in two days later. Powers has resigned his Ward 11 City Council seat.
“I am informing the City of my intentions to resign effective noon on May 1st, 2019,” Powers said Wednesday.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has proclaimed Saturday, November 26th as Small Business Saturday in the City of Clarksville.
Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the City of Clarksville, the state and country. Founded by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
