Soldier dies of wounds after being struck by an IED

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – November 19th, 2010 – A 101st Airborne Division Soldier died of wounds after being struck by an improvised explosive device November 17th in the Panjawaii district, Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

Specialist Justin Eric Culbreth, 26, of Colorado Springs, CO, was an Infantryman assigned to Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He joined the Army in February 2004 and arrived at Fort Campbell in May 2009.

Culbreth is survived by his wife, Kimberly Culbreth; son, Brandon S. Culbreth; step-daughters, Katelyn R. Carbaugh, Mariah J. Bailey and Hannah G. Carbaugh and step-son, Cole R. Carbaugh, all of Clarksville, Tennessee. He is also survived by his parents Walter and Cheryl Culbreth of Wentzville, MO.
