APSU Sports Information
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team couldn’t put together against Southern Illinois, Saturday, falling 6-1 to the Salukis at the Austin Peay Tennis Center.
The Lady Govs also got a victory on the doubles side, with senior Andra Cornea and junior Ornella Di Salvo defeating Natasha Tomishima and Korey Love, 6-3, at the No. 1 slot.
Despite that victory, the Lady Govs were unable to come away with the doubles point, a focal point of head coach Ross Brown’s overall strategy.
Di Salvo forced Meagan Monaghan to a third set at No. 2 singles before ultimately falling 7-6, 6-7, 12-10 in a grueling match.
The Lady Govs return to action with a 7:00pm, Friday, February 14th match at Lipscomb.
