Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports residents of Montgomery County are being targeted.
A person will call you and identify himself as a Captain, Lieutenant, or Sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The caller will identify you by name and say you have a warrant on file or you have missed jury duty.
Once you purchase the card, you are given a phone number to call back so you can give them the account number off the card.
NO ONE from the Sheriff’s Office will ever call you and ask for money over the phone. Do not fall victim to this scam.
