Clarksville Housing & Community Development director Keith Lampkin resigns

Director of Housing & Community Development held position for 10 years

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Keith Lampkin, director of Clarksville’s Office of Housing & Community Development for the past 10 years, resigned Wednesday, February 19th, 2020 and announced he had accepted the position of Deputy Director of the Clarksville Housing Authority.

“I want to thank Keith for his long and effective service to the City, and I wish him well,” Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said.

Lampkin notified the City of his resignation Wednesday and said he planned to report to his new post at the Housing Authority later Wednesday.

Clarksville’s Office of Housing & Community Development administers various programs that flow to the City from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, such as Community Development Block Grants.

Much of the office’s work is directed toward neighborhood revitalization, programs to battle homelessness, economic development and improved community facilities to benefit low- and moderate-income persons.

The Housing Authority is an independent agency chartered by HUD that manages public housing. It is operated by a local board appointed by the Mayor and Clarksville City Council.

Lampkin is a U.S. Army veteran who also served as a senior planner at the Regional Planning Commission from 2004-09.
