City of Clarksville honors over 200 Employees at Pin Breakfast

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and City Department Heads honored longstanding City employees at its annual Employee Pin Breakfast at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center on Wednesday, February 2nd.

Larry Waynick, Network Facilities Specialist at CDE Lightband, was the longest-serving member of the 202 City employees who received their pins marking City service in 5-year increments.

Waynick, who started his career with the City in October 1971, is the longest-serving employee in CDE Lightband’s History. He began as a Meter Reader and grew with the company, serving in multiple roles until transitioning into his current position. CDE Lightband General Manager Brian Taylor shared the honor with Mayor Pitts of presenting Waynick his 50-year service pin during the breakfast, followed by a standing ovation from his colleagues.

“Every year, we recognize our employees who have dedicated their lives and careers to serving the City of Clarksville,” Mayor Pitts said. “Whether it be their first 5-year pin or their 50-year pin, one thing remains the same; these are some of the best people I have ever worked with. Each one truly embodies what it means to serve their community, and I’m proud to shake each of their hands and thank them for all they have done and will continue to do.”

City Information Technology’s Barbara Jeannie Hillier followed closely behind Waynick, receiving her 45-year service pin from IT Director Amie Wilson and Mayor Pitts.

Sixty-eight employees received their five-year service pins as part of the annual ceremony.
