City of Clarksville to install new Parking Meters on Strawberry Alley and Franklin Street

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – As a result of a stakeholders meeting last year, new parking meters are being installed for a trial period on Strawberry Alley and the 100 block of Franklin Street.

The new meters will allow people parking in these areas to pay by credit or debit cards.

“During a meeting last year, a request was made by the merchants in the area to determine the possibility of installing these meters,” said David Smith, Manager of the Clarksville Parking Authority. “This new equipment will not increase the cost to park in these spaces. The only difference is that people will have another payment option.”

The Parking Authority plans to test these meters for the next couple of months and will then evaluate their effectiveness.

Questions about the new meters should be directed to David Smith at 931.553.2436 or .
