TBI Agents Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Clarksville

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) special agents continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the shooting of a man during an interaction with officers with the Clarksville Police Department early Sunday morning, June 27th, 2021.

Shortly before 2:00am Sunday, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Liberty Bell Drive on a report of a loud disturbance. Initial reports indicate that as officers approached the residence, they heard several gunshots.

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) are asking the public’s assistance in an ongoing investigation into a man who may be connected to more than the one crime for which he already faces charges.

At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Agents joined the investigation into Roy Michel Nellsch (DOB 12-31-56) earlier this week.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Traffic Safety Task Force receives Recognition

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Traffic Safety Task Force was recognized by the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) for their ongoing commitment and dedication to highway traffic safety.

THSO Law Enforcement Liaison Tony Burnett presented the Task Force with a plaque during their annual Middle Tennessee District meeting held in Bell Buckle on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018.

Members of the Task Force were also recognized for individual achievements. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Adam Simpkins received a Trooper of the Year Award for District 3.

TBI changes Former Cross Plains Police Chief James Yates with Official Misconduct

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has resulted in the indictment of the former Cross Plains Police Chief.

In June, at the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating James K. Yates on allegations of misuse of governmental records. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that between July 2016 and November 2017, while serving as chief of the Cross Plains Police Department, Yates used the Criminal Justice Portal System to make inquiries unrelated to his official duties.

TBI indicts James Jones of Robertson County for Inappropriate Relationship with Minor

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a former Robertson County youth pastor accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

In September 2017, at the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating allegations of sexual misconduct involving James Clinton Jones (DOB 3/12/80).

TBI indicts Former First Presbyterian Church treasurer Connie Parker for theft in Clarksville

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Special Agents have obtained an indictment for a Clarksville woman accused of stealing approximately half a million dollars from the church for which she worked.

At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating Connie Parker (DOB 2-15-46) on August 18th, 2016. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that, while serving as Treasurer for First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville from 2010 to 2016, Parker stole approximately $498,000.

TBI arrests Cross Plains Police Officer on charges of Sexual Battery by Authority Figure

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Robertson County School Resource Officer on charges of sexual battery by an authority figure.

At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating Charles Logan Abernathy on November 30th. Abernathy serves as a School Resource Officer at East Robertson High School.

Montgomery County Man faces charges of Theft, Conspiracy to commit Theft

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Clarksville man on theft-related charges.

At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, on January 12th, 2012, TBI Special Agents began investigating a theft complaint against Griffey and Associates. The business was employed by Clarksville Charitable Educational Foundation, Inc., to manage rental property owned by the Foundation.

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a former nonprofit director accused of stealing thousands of dollars intended to support her organization.

At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating Nicole Hulbig on December 12th, 2014. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that Hulbig, who operated a service dog rescue nonprofit called RRR Service Dogs, collected more than $92,000 in fundraising efforts from January 2013 through April 2014.

Former Clarksville Attorney Carrie Gasaway indicted by TBI on Theft Charges

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of a former Clarksville attorney who is charged with three counts of theft.

At the request of 19th District Attorney General John Carney, TBI Special Agents began investigating Carrie Gasaway on August 6th. Gasaway operated a law firm in Clarksville until July 2015.

During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that Gasaway had commingled funds between her attorney trust account and operating account from January 2014 through February 2015.
