New York, NY – The Nashville Predators sweep their back-to-back series tonight with a convincing win over the New York Islanders, 8-3. Head coach Peter Laviolette juggled his lines tonight and may have found the magic his team has been missing so far this year.
Nashville played two nights of convincing hockey with wins over the Rangers, and tonight, the Islanders. Scoring was NOT the issue tonight.
Craig Smith got things started when he gave the Predators the 1-0 lead at 4:39 of the opening frame on a wrist shot that beat starting goaltender Thomas Greiss. Greiss wouldn’t finish the game in net.
Manhattan, NY – The Nashville Predators began a four game road trip with a big win over the New York Rangers tonight at Madison Square Garden, 5-2. The Predators were outshot by the relentless Rangers, 41-24, but were able to make their chances count in the victory.
Juuse Saros started in goal for the Predators tonight and blocked 39 shots. Nashville needs to refresh their browser on this season if they expect to make the playoffs, coming off of a embarrassing loss to the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.
Nashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators fell to the Dallas Stars tonight at Bridgestone Arena in an all too familiar fashion. Lack of scoring and goal tending. If this is any indication of what the upcoming Winter Classic will be like, then Nashville has a lot of work to do before the New Year’s day event.
Once again, the Predators outshot their opponent, only to fall short in scoring goals. Nashville fired 38 shots on goal to just 22 for the Stars. Pekka Rinne continues to struggle in net, giving up all four goals tonight.

As the Predators prepare to take a four game road trip, the current state of their game doesn’t offer much encouragement as they hit the road.
New York has now won four of their last five games, leaving the Predators scratching their heads over their lack of offensive production as the leading offensive team in the NHL.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators held a three goal lead after two periods of play, only to fall in overtime to the Calgary Flames, 6-5 in Nashville. It was a stunned Smashville crowd that headed for the exits when Mathew Tkachuk slipped the game winner past Pekka Rinne as the buzzer sounded to end the extra period.
The Predators were in full command of this one right from the start. Nick Bonino continued his scoring onslaught as he gave Nashville the early 1-0 lead, just 5:33 into the opening period. The Bonino backhand slipped past David Rittich and that gave Bonino four goals in his last four shots, including the hat trick on Tuesday night against the Blackhawks.
Nashville, TN – The struggling Nashville Predators just can’t seem to find a way to win, falling tonight to the visiting New York Rangers, 4-3.
It was a back and forth affair with both teams trading punches and the lead throughout the game, but in the end, the Rangers, and their premier goalie, Henrik Lundqvist, leave Nashville with the win.
Mika Zibanejad started the scoring for New York at 2:42 of the opening frame on a tip in that beat Pekka Rinne for the early 1-0 lead.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators disappointed a sellout crowd at Bridgestone Arena tonight, losing to the Calgary Flames, 3-0.
Flames goaltender Mike Smith was a brick wall in net for Calgary, stopping 43 shots on goal, and earning the shutout.
Elias Lindholm got the Flames on the board with a goal on the power play in the first period for the 1-0 lead. Sean Monahan then gave the Flames a 2-0 lead and Nashville was behind the eight ball after two periods.
Clarksville, TN – Pekka Rinne blocked 47 shots, the second highest total in his illustrious career, and Ryan Ellis scored the game winner, as the Nashville Predators defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 3-2 at the Bell Center. Tonight’s win was the third overtime game of the four game road swing.
Rinne showed why he should be in the conversation about “elite” NHL goaltenders, with tonight’s performance. Not only did he stonewall the Canadiens for the victory, but the Predator’s netminder stopped 10 shots in the overtime period alone. Montreal netminder Carey Price, blocked 30 shots on the night.
Clarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators won an overtime thriller to begin their four game road trip tonight, against the New York Islanders, 5-4. Ryan Johansen tied the game with just under one minute in regulation, then THE captain, Roman Josi scored the game winner to earn the Predators the two points.
In what can only be described as one of the most exciting comebacks in Nashville Predators history, Nashville gets the win in a battle of goaltenders as Pekka Rinne and New York’s Jaroslav Halak put on a clinic.
Clarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators completed a four game homestand with a resounding victory over the visiting New York Rangers, 5-2. Nashville has now won eight of their last ten games with the Bridgestone Arena win.
Predators goalie Pekka Rinne showed why he is one of the elite goaltenders in the NHL, stopping 20 shots and picking up the victory. The win is his seventh straight.
The game was a physical affair with the Rangers losing both Marc Staal and Jimmy Vesey in the second period.
