123 APSU Athletes named to OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – A program-record 123 Austin Peay State University student-athletes have been named to the 2017-18 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, released Wednesday by the conference office.

Student-athletes must have achieved a 3.25 grade-point average, were eligible and on the team throughout the competitive season in their chosen NCAA-sponsored sport(s) and used a season of competition in that sport.

APSU Women's Track and FieldClarksville, TN – At long last, Austin Peay State University track and field gets the chance to put it all together against the Ohio Valley Conference’s finest competition as the APSU Govs travel to Cookeville Tennessee for the 2018 OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Tennessee Tech at Tucker Stadium.

Austin Peay seeks its fifth consecutive top-five finish in OVC Outdoor competition. Last season, APSU’s 87.33 points placed them fifth, less than four points behind third-place Tennessee Tech.

Austin Peay State University Track and Field shines at it’s annual APSU Invitational event

APSU Women's Track and FieldClarksville, TN – In its annual home meet, Austin Peay State University track and field enjoyed some dominating performances, with several student-athletes advancing their standing both in the conference and in the region with spectacular efforts.

Home meet or not, one place where it was business as usual was the pole vault pit, where junior Savannah Amato won handily with a 4.01m (13-1.75) mark. Both freshman Morgan Bradley and junior Dascha Hix reached 3.86m (12-8.00), with Bradley sharing second and Hix fourth based on attempts.

APSU Women's Track and FieldClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University track and field hosts the annual APSU Invitational, a one-day event scheduled for a 10:00am, Friday, start at Fortera Stadium.

With inclement weather scheduled for Saturday, the traditional two-day format was altered in order to expedite a full Friday of competition.

APSU Track and Field excels at Tennessee State’s Ed Temple Classic

APSU Women's Track and FieldNashville, TN – A sweep of the distance events gave Austin Peay State University track and field a leg up at Sunday’s Ed Temple Classic, hosted by Tennessee State at the Gentry Center.

Austin Peay’s big winner on the day was sophomore Emmaculate Kiplagat, who dusted the field in the mile run with a 5:30.39 mark in the mile run, then returned for a win in the 3000m with an 11:05.82 mark.
