Nashville Sounds begin ambitious homestand at Greer Stadium Thursday

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN –  The Nashville Sounds continue their #LastCheerAtGreer with the team’s third homestand of the year at Greer Stadium, which begins this Thursday, May 15th.

The eight-game homestand welcomes the Oklahoma City RedHawks (Houston Astros affiliate) to Nashville for four games spanning May 15th-18thand the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals affiliate) from May 19th-22nd.

Highlighting the homestand’s worth of promotions will be a Friday Fireworks show, NEWS 2 Postgame Fireworks on Saturday, a pair of Throwback Thursdays presented by The Tennessean, and a Greer Stadium T-shirt Giveaway presented by Family Leisure.

Thursday, May 15th vs. Oklahoma City RedHawks @ 7:05pm (Gates Open at 6:05pm).

The Sounds open their homestand against Oklahoma City on Throwback Thursday, presented by The Tennessean. Nashville will wear blue V-neck 1980s-style uniforms every Thursday home game this season, while fans can enjoy throwback $2 prices on beer, soda, hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos.

College students can receive one $5 General Admission ticket offer with a valid college ID, while all fans can receive one $5 General Admission ticket offer with the Throwback Thursday coupon printed in Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday editions of The Tennessean.

The 2014 Nashville Sounds Concert Series, presented by BIG98 and 107.5 The River, will provide fans with a pre-game music performance. The Sounds will partner with C2 Media Relations and SIR to provide live music at Greer Stadium for every Thursday, Friday and Saturday home game.

Friday, May 16th vs. Oklahoma City RedHawks @ 7:05pm (Gates Open at 6:05pm).

The Sounds Concert Series continues on Saturday with a pregame concert performance by Anthony Orio on the plaza stage near the first-base entrance as the gates open. The night will conclude with an impressive Friday fireworks display.

Friday also marks one of the Sounds Reading Club games, offering students the chance to participate in an on-field, pre-game parade with Ozzie. Students are eligible to win prizes for reaching “home plate” in the program.

Saturday, May 17th vs. Oklahoma City RedHawks @ 6:35pm (Gates Open at 5:35pm).

The first 2,000 fans to the game Saturday will receive a Commemorative Greer Stadium T-Shirt courtesy of Family Leisure.

Country singer Rachel Bradshaw, the daughter of Terry Bradshaw, will perform before the game as a part of the 2014 Sounds Concert Series.

A spectacular fireworks show will follow the game, presented by Nashville’s NEWS 2.

Sunday, May 18th vs. Oklahoma City RedHawks @ 2:05pm (Gates Open at 1:05pm).

Every home Sunday game at Greer this season will be a Military Sunday presented by Piedmont Natural Gas and Tennessee 811. The Sounds will wear camouflage jerseys, while servicemen/women, veterans, and their families receive $5 off reserved or general admission tickets with a valid Military ID; limit 5 discounted tickets per ID.

Also taking place each Sunday will be Faith and Family Sundays, where fans can receive $5 off tickets by presenting a church or community bulletin at the Sounds Advance Financial Box Office; limit eight discounted tickets per bulletin.

Ozzie’s Fit and Fun Club, presented by The Tennessean, continues its season Sunday. Ozzie’s Fit and Fun Club is a program for children of all ages, offering unique opportunities and loads of fun every Sunday home game at the ballpark. Memberships are $15 and include a t-shirt, water bottle, draw-string bag and Sounds tickets.

Monday, May 19th vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 7:05pm (Gates Open at 6:05pm).

Sounds continue the homestand with Monday’s 7:05pm series opener against the Storm Chasers on SeatGeek.com Dollar Monday, when fans can receive a $1 ticket offer with the purchase of a regularly priced ticket by showing their SeatGeek.com mobile app at the box office. In addition, concessions will sell hot dogs for just $1 apiece courtesy of SeatGeat.com.

Tuesday, May 20th vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 11:05am (Gates Open at 9:35am).

Twice Daily and the Nashville Sounds are partnering up each Tuesday this season to provide fans a special two-for-one ticket offer. On game day, bring an in-store receipt from Daily’s or Twice Daily to the Advance Financial Box Office to receive the offer.

Tuesday morning’s game marks the last of three Education Day games of the season. For Education Day, students in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in a pregame parade with Ozzie and receive an Education Day workbook presented by the Nashville Sounds Foundation.

Wednesday, May 21st vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 6:05pm (Gates Open at 5:05pm).

The Sounds will play two seven-inning games as a part of a doubleheader on Wednesday to make up for the rain out on April 14th. It is the team’s third doubleheader of the season and the second at Greer Stadium.

Great Clips #WebWednesdays reward fans that follow the Sounds on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with special offers. Fans can also receive $5 off a general admission ticket by presenting a Great Clips receipt at the box office (up to two per receipt).

Prior to the game, multiple players will be visiting the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to play games and take photos with children at the hospital.

Thursday, May 22nd vs. Omaha Storm Chasers @ 7:05pm (Gates Open at 6:05pm).

The eight-game homestand concludes as it began, on another Throwback Thursday presented by The Tennessean, when fans can enjoy throwback $2 prices on beer, soda, hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos.

The game will feature music hits from the 1980s for “80’s Night” at Greer Stadium. Fans are encouraged to dress up in their best 80’s gear for the chance to win special prizes at the game.

Fans entering the ballpark will be greeted by music from SARABETH, as a part of the 2014 Nashville Sounds Concert Series, presented by BIG98 and 107.5 The River.

Following the homestand, Nashville will take a road trip to New Orleans to take on the Zephyrs (Marlins affiliate) for four games. The Sounds will then return to Nashville and begin their fourth homestand on Tuesday, May 27th, when they host the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Rockies affiliate) and the Iowa Cubs (Cubs affiliate).

The team is asking fans to help say farewell to the venue it has called home for 37 years by coming to Sounds games this summer and using the hashtag #LastCheerAtGreer in social media.
